Oxidative Desizing Method, Chemicals and its applications

It uses chlorine , hypochlorite , sodium bromite and other can be used to remove starch from cotton fabric. 

   Starch (Oxidation)  ---------> Soluble Products   

1. Chlorine Desizing:-  in this process starch is oxidized the grey fabric after padding with water is passed through a chamber in which gaseous is blown at constant concentration . Chlorine react with water present in cloth producing hydrochlorinric acid and nascent oxygen.

CL2 + H20 --->   2HCL + O(Nascent oxygen)

          this nascent oxygen attacks starch and makes it soluble the solubilised starch is then removed             by washing

1.  Hypochlorite Desizing :-

2NaOCL + 2H2O ----> 2NaOH + 2HOCL (hypochloric acid)

2HOCL ---> 2HCL +2O(Nascent Oxygen) 

Sizing Material  + O ------> Desized cloth
